Katvia Kvinge from Showcase the Street Dundee
Katvia Kvinge was interviewed in the DCA one afternoon on November 5th 2009. Subsequent years would see more Halloween themed programmes. In the search for presenters Katvia had come to our attention being originally based in Perth for 9 years then moving to Dundee. She explains she was teaching dance at Showcase the Street in Dundee. She was at the time this interview was recorded auditioning for work in Edinburgh. This piece seems to have been recorded to allow her to explain her experience in struggling for real acting roles and not just saying I’m an actor.

Designs for Life book published by Dundee University
Interview with Paul Harrison who oversaw the project to visualise the relationship between science and art over a two year period. Everyday scientists at Dundee University see our world through micro biology. All of the digital images are filed and stored. However the scientists may not always know what they are looking at. Some of what they are seeing may lead to new breakthroughs in years to come. We spoke to Paul Liam Harrison who was fascinated that all of these images were being stored but not seen by the wider public. Paul was particularly intrigued about the story of a woman who had died 40 or 50 years ago but her tumour cells are still being grown in laboratories round the world as a reference point for research into this kind of tumour.
Incidentally the website referred to in the piece in 2009 www.designforlifeproject.co.uk is no longer live.
Originally this clip has commercials tagged on to it at either side. They were for different businesses one of which is still trading and may not want the commercial shown. If the video archive outlives the remaining business the clips will be reattached.
